The way we play golf has changed and a lot of that change has to do with the equipment we play. The conventional iron set is more or less dead, with most manufacturers recognizing the growing popularity of easy-to-hit hybrids and offering irons sets which start at the 4-iron and sometimes even at the 5-iron.

The game of golf has changed over the years and the equipment we use has changed as well. Our irons have changed, as most iron manufacturers now offer sets that start with the 4 or even 5-irons in answer to the ever mounting popularity of hybrid clubs of hybrid clubs amongst the majority of golfers. It makes sense, as for most club golfers hybrid clubs are considerably more forgiving to hit than the irons.

The USGA and the R…A place a limit on the volume of driver heads. That limit is 460cc and for most club golfers, bigger really is better. If your driving is unreliable, moving to a bigger sized driver will probably help. New perimeter weighted models and modern square profiles make for a much more forgiving driver, even from miss-hits. Miss-hit a bigger driver and you won’t suffer as much in distance and accuracy.

As with all clubs, the shaft is the engine of your driver. Play a driver with the wrong shaft and you’ll struggle to find any accuracy or distance. Most common faults can be reduced or even eliminated simply by playing the right shafts. Troubled by a slice, a softer shaft might do the trick. A lot of players struggle with getting any height on their drives. Shafts with softer tips could well be the solution to that problem. Your driving will get better if you match your driver shaft specifications to your swing speed. If you don’t know your swing speed, the majority of shaft ratings will incorporate a carry approximation for calculating the best flex fit. Browse the specifications of different shafts and go for one that matches your regular carry distances.

The fastest growing segment in golf equipment sales are hybrid golf clubs. If you struggle with reliability with your long irons, then some easy hitting hybrid clubs could well be your best investment. Playable and very versatile from all kind of lie, hybrids are easy to hit from the tee and the fairway. You can even chip with them. These are clubs that are designed to hit high, so shaft manufacturers now offer a range of shafts especially made for hybrids.

With irons the choices are even bigger. Modern iron designs are there to help with most of the common flight problems. Offset irons to minimize the slice, wider soles on irons can reduce the fat shot and get much needed height on the ball for lots of golfers. Take a long look at your irons. If their design doesn’t give you the help you need, then it’s most likely time for an upgrade.

The scoring clubs provide plenty of options to choose from as well. Forgiving wedge designs mean you don’t have to make any compromises with your wedge play anymore. If you have problems playing little flop-shots then high lofted wedges are there to help. If you have difficulty getting out of bunkers, choose an easy to hit hollow sand wedge. These are super easy to hit and it’s almost a putting stroke to get out of just about any bunker.

Recent changes in equipment rules now allow for some pretty bizarre looking putter designs. Outlandish, but effective. If your putting is inconsistent, a more forgiving putter shape may well be the best decision. Are you closing the putter towards the hole too much? You probably miss a lot of putts to the left (for a right handed golfer) and a face balanced mallet could well be the solution to your putting woes.

Choosing the right golf clubs for your game is about playing clubs that make the most of your strong points and reduce your weaknesses. You won’t need to break the bank either. The component market offers some very high quality clubs to choose from. Plus your component clubs will be custom built for you which is the best way to play the right golf clubs for your game.

Playing the right golf clubs for your game is only a mouse click away and our range of clone golf clubs will give you the best return for your dollar. The best selection of custom built golf clubs available online.
