The participants will be allowed to perform the process of preparing the surface of a wall in their respective working bays for rendering. As soon as the plasterboards are prepared, participants shall be able to try the skimming techniques using PVA on a wall and ceiling in their respective working bays. Once the participants are able to apply 2 layers of skim plaster on the wall, they then proceed to the ceiling and apply the same skimming techniques.
The plastering course shall also cover the correct way of cutting and fixing plasterboards. Participants will learn how to cut the plasterboards and fix it on the wall by using the appropriate adhesive material. Participants will also learn the correct procedure in preparing the joints before the skim plaster is applied.
Short term plastering courses provide the opportunity for individuals to learn the effective ways of performing the task in a logical and expeditious way. With sufficient practice and exposure to actual plastering jobs, you will be able to develop the proficiency and skill in performing even the more complicated and extensive plastering jobs.
