Oklahoma City Thunder Season Predictions

With one of the worst records in the NBA during the 2008-2009 season, the Thunder weren’t exactly one of the NBA’s more exciting teams. Still, fans came to watch them in droves, and only ten other teams had higher attendance marks than the Thunder did last year.

The novelty might start to wear off if the team isn’t going to perform better this season. A team in a new town always had success typically so the Thunder might get a pass on the bad play.

On the other hand, all basketball fans in Seattle have to be upset. The Sonics were a respectable NBA franchise, and their days were ended when ownership decided to relocate the franchise to Oklahoma City, subsequently renaming them the Thunder too. As the state of basketball is in the midst of a financial struggle with the economy, it might be years before Seattle sees another basketball team.

An NBA superstar in the making, the hopes of this franchise rest in the hands of Kevin Durant. He could easily win the scoring title in 09-10, and should probably make the All-Star team too.

In order to win games, the Thunder must rely on Kevin Durant. As he’s in his early 20s, there’s plenty of upside in his game so one could definitely expect him to improve.

Durant is the hope of this franchise, and the team’s success will definitely depend on his effectiveness. A very young basketball player, his best days are ahead of him, making things exciting for Thunder fans.

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Green will need to give Durant all the help they can in order for the team to even sniff 35 wins. The Thunder play in the Western Conference and it will be difficult to get wins even against the lower level teams in the conference.

Thunder fans should enjoy Kevin Durant and his scoring ability. Even if the team has another bad season record wise – Durant should give ESPN many top ten plays.
